A corporate team building programme in Saudi Arabia runs as a half day (9:00 AM to 1:00 PM) or a full day (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM), works for groups of 20 to 500 people, and typically costs SAR 150–600 per person depending on the format, venue, and level of customisation. The best programmes are not a list of games: they are designed around one or two objectives, run on a written schedule, and end with a debrief and awards. This guide covers the activities that work, how to choose them, sample schedules, and real costs.

What a team building day should achieve
Start with the objective, not the activity. Most corporate briefs come down to one or more of these five:
- Collaboration — teams that work in silos learning to depend on each other.
- Communication — clearer instructions, better listening, faster decisions under pressure.
- Engagement — re-energising a team after a hard quarter, a restructure, or a merger.
- Team bonding — new joiners and long-serving staff actually getting to know each other.
- Fun — a genuine reward. This is a legitimate objective on its own.
Once the objective is clear, the activities, the team split, and the scoring all follow from it.
Indoor team building activities
Indoor programmes run in any hotel ballroom, conference hall, or large office space, and they work in every season. These are the long-form activities that carry a programme:
The Puzzle
Teams win puzzle pieces by solving riddles. Each team thinks it is building its own picture — until they discover there is only one, and it needs every team to finish it. Around 90 minutes.
Build Your City
Teams earn building materials at challenge stations, then build one district each. At the end, every district joins into a single city. Around 120 minutes, and the largest in scale.
Big Painting
Challenges earn each team its paint and brushes. Every team paints one panel of a single large picture, which stays with the company afterwards. Around 90 minutes, low intensity.
Crime Scene
Competing investigation teams work a staged scene with clues, evidence, and witnesses. Only structured problem-solving gets a team to the answer. Around 120 minutes.
Roller Coaster
Build a track that carries a ball from a two-metre start to a bucket five metres away, without anyone touching it. An engineering challenge that fits any ballroom. 45 minutes.
Live team quiz
A general-knowledge or company quiz played on the room screen with a live leaderboard. The fastest way to warm up a seated room.

Quick challenges and warm-ups
Short, physical challenges of about ten minutes each, run as a rotating circuit between the bigger activities. A few that consistently work:
- Flip the Carpet — the whole team turns a mat over without anyone stepping off it.
- Blind Geometry — blindfolded and silent, the team forms a shape with one long rope.
- Minesweeper — cross a mined field from side to side, through four levels of difficulty.
- The Tire — eight ropes, eight hands, one tyre rolled to the finish line.
- Six Blocks — stack scattered blocks into a tower using only ropes attached to a disc.
- Shapes — a shape appears on screen and teams have seconds to form it with their bodies.
Outdoor team building ideas
From November to March, the weather in most of the Kingdom suits a full day outside. Outdoor programmes add space, movement, and a change of scenery:
- Challenge circuits — the quick challenges above, run across a resort lawn or open field.
- Archery — scored target rounds with team totals.
- Desert camp days — team challenges by day, majlis, fire pits, and dinner in the evening.
- Carnival games — branded game booths for open days and company events.
Outdoor sites need shade, water stations, first aid, and transport planned in. For the summer months, keep the programme indoors.

Choosing activities by objective
| If your objective is… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Collaboration across departments | The Puzzle, Build Your City — the result only exists when every team contributes. |
| Communication | Blind Geometry, Crime Scene — success depends on clear instructions. |
| Problem-solving | Crime Scene, Roller Coaster — structured thinking under time pressure. |
| Bonding and energy | Live quiz, quick challenge circuit, carnival games. |
| Low physical intensity | Big Painting, The Puzzle, live quiz — suitable for mixed ages and abilities. |

How much does team building cost in Saudi Arabia?
- SAR 150 – 300 per person — half-day indoor programme at your office or a venue you provide: facilitators, equipment, host, scoring, and awards.
- SAR 300 – 600 per person — full-day programme with custom artwork, a hotel venue, lunch and refreshments, photography, and video.
- Above SAR 600 per person — outdoor and desert programmes with transport, multi-day retreats, or heavily customised builds.
Most programmes for 50–150 people fall between SAR 25,000 and SAR 80,000 in total. Per-person cost drops as groups grow, because facilitators and equipment are shared. Venue, catering, and transport are the variables that move the total most.
Combine it with another event: a two-hour team building block before an end-of-year gathering or a company townhall adds real engagement at a fraction of the cost of a separate day. See our guide to corporate end-of-year gatherings.
How a programme is planned
- 1. Brief — objective, group profile, headcount, venue, and any constraints.
- 2. Design — activity selection, schedule, team split, scoring system, and custom artwork.
- 3. Deliver — facilitators, equipment, host, and live scoreboard on site, with photography and video through the day.
- 4. Debrief — awards, a written summary of what each activity showed, and the full photo gallery.
Making it count after the day
A team building day pays off when its lessons show up at work the following week. Close every programme with a short debrief that links each activity to a real working behaviour, share the photos and winners internally the next morning, and ask managers to reference one moment from the day in their next team meeting. For a real example, see the live quiz and team challenges we ran for Tamimi Markets' 400-person townhall.
What we handle
Programme design, activity selection, custom artwork, all equipment, trained facilitators, a bilingual host, live scoring, venue sourcing, catering, transport for outdoor sites, photography and video, trophies and prizes, and a written debrief. One project manager owns the programme from brief to final report, in any city in the Kingdom.
